NECP Sets Standards for Ecotourism
In response to operationalizing the concept of ecotourism and to enhance the
quality of visitor experience in the country, the National Ecotourism Committee
(NEC) has developed a national ecotourism program that establishes a set of
standards for ecotourism projects or products.
The National Ecotourism Certification Program establishes a set of criteria
for ecotourism product assessment. The program aimed at setting standards for
endorsement of an ecotourism project and an accreditation system for existing
and operational ecotourism products.
The program will directly benefit the tourists by providing them a guide to
identify recognized ecotourism products thus giving them a greater assurance
of comfort, safety and convenience.
